The US CLOUD Act gives US authorities access to data on AWS, Azure and GCP, even when stored in EU datacenters in Paris or Frankfurt. In June 2025, Microsoft France admitted as much under oath before the French Senate, since storing data in Europe does not put it beyond the reach of US authorities.
