Sovereign alternative to GitHub, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps
GitLab CE managed, hosted in Europe
The open-source software forge, operated for you in Europe. Git repositories, CI/CD and Container Registry in one place, without sending your code overseas. Reversible: take everything back whenever you want.
What the managed service covers
GitLab Community Edition (MIT licence) brings together your Git repositories, CI/CD pipelines, issue tracking and Container Registry. Bunker hosts and operates it in Europe: updates, backups, monitoring and high availability.
Deployment and updates
We install, configure and keep the latest stable version up to date. You have no server to administer.
Encrypted backups
Daily encrypted backups, kept in Europe. A restore is one ticket away.
Monitoring and security
Monitoring, security patches and firewall handled continuously by our team.
Human support
A team that answers on software it operates itself.
- Git repositories, merge requests and code review
- Built-in CI/CD and Container Registry
- Hosted in Europe, GDPR-compliant
- Open source, no lock-in migration (git, pg_dump)
Hosted in Europe, outside US jurisdiction
GitHub (Microsoft), Bitbucket (Atlassian) and Azure DevOps host your code — often your most sensitive asset — outside Europe, under US law (CLOUD Act). A GitLab CE forge managed in Europe keeps your repositories, pipelines and images on the continent, on open-source software you can bring back in-house whenever you decide.
- Servers physically in Europe, operated by a European company.
- A European company, outside the scope of the US CLOUD Act and FISA.
- No subcontracting to a US hyperscaler.
- Re-internalizable: you can bring the service back onto your own servers.
Frequently asked questions
Which edition of GitLab is deployed?
GitLab Community Edition (CE), under the free MIT licence. This managed service is not affiliated with GitLab Inc. or its Enterprise editions; “GitLab” is a trademark of GitLab Inc.
Is my code really in Europe?
Yes. The Git repositories, the PostgreSQL database and the Container Registry are hosted on European servers operated by Bunker, GDPR-compliant.
Am I locked into your offer?
No. GitLab CE is open source: your repositories are standard Git files and metadata exports via pg_dump. You can bring the whole instance back in-house on your own infrastructure.
Are CI/CD and the image registry included?
Yes: built-in CI/CD pipelines and Container Registry are part of the service. CI runners scale to your needs (see also our managed GitLab Runner service).
