Does Vaultwarden work with the Bitwarden apps?
Yes. The Bitwarden browser extensions, mobile apps and desktop clients connect directly to your instance. You only change the server URL in the settings.
Where are the passwords stored?
On servers located in Europe, operated by Bunker. Encryption happens client-side before upload. Your vault’s contents stay unreadable to us and to any third party.
Can I get my data back if I leave?
Yes, at any time. You export your vault as JSON or CSV, and you can bring the instance back onto your own servers. No data is retained.
